I'm writing a book that is a record of my 37th year, and was initially going to be about how to avoid having a midlife crisis. The reality though is that having a midlife crisis is unavoidable (for me anyway), therefore I've decided to write a book about how to enjoy having one.
I have so far penned just under 5,000 words, which is a pretty good introduction to why I'm doing it, and my outlook on life.
I plan to sit down and write the other 45,000 words when we return from S Africa in September. However rather annoyingly I managed to smash the laptop I was intending to use. Bloody typical.
We shall overcome however.
If you are a publisher, and like the idea of my book feel free to offer me a large advance, as this would help pay the bills during my UNPAID career break.
Alternatively once written my book will go straight to Kindle (bit like movies that used to go straight to video). Either way I am determined to write the damn thing.
In the meantime I am also involved in writing a romantic thriller of sorts, which has proved remarkably good fun. So if the self help autobiographical midlife crisis thing is a flop, I may have a future writing trashy novels.
